Cold Case Homicide Unit

State Attorney Amira Fox and Cape Coral Police Chief Dave Newlan ask the public to take a
renewed look at an unsolved homicide.

Today marks the 6th year anniversary of the murder of Alfred Griffiths in Cape Coral. Mr.
Griffiths, 54, was the manager of the T.J. Maxx store on Del Prado Boulevard. He was gunned
down just before 9 p.m. on November 18, 2014, as he was sitting on a bench in front of the store.
He was shot in the head and the unknown shooter fled the scene.

The Cape Coral Police Department has dedicated themselves to this case and the State
Attorney’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit, is assisting them with the investigation, to find the
person responsible for this heinous crime.

In an effort to generate more tips for this unsolved murder and other unsolved crimes, today
State Attorney Fox announces the State Attorney’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit Tip Line.
Anyone with information on an unsolved case can call the number at: 1-833-987-2611. All
callers are anonymous unless they choose to provide their information for contact.

“The new tip line is an important resource in our continuous effort to solve cold cases. The State
Attorney’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit is comprised of experienced homicide investigators
and prosecutors. They have solved and prosecuted numerous homicides. The State Attorney’s
Office homicide investigators receiving information from the tip line are experienced in
evaluating any and all leads that may assist in resolving cases alongside our law enforcement
partners,” said State Attorney Fox.

There is currently $28,000 in reward money from Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers available
for information leading to an arrest.
