The Office of the State Attorney for the Twentieth Judicial Circuit is currently accepting applications for law students who have completed at least one semester and are interested in an internship/externship in 2023. Consider experiencing our dynamic team!  Details below.

Requirements

How to Apply

Students designated by the Florida Bar as Certified Legal Interns (or, for non-Florida law school students, who are similarly designated by their Bar) are encouraged to consider joining us for a semester. We have an extensive and courtroom based program that will allow you an opportunity for courtroom experience. Students must have received their Florida Board of Bar Examiners Registrant Clearance prior to application submission.

  • Spring/Fall - A minimum of 3 full days per week, no exceptions
  • Summer - A minimum of 4 full days per week, no exceptions
  • Requires 8 week minimum internship

Please Note: All offers are contingent upon a successful background and drug screening

If you would like to be considered for an interview (via Go To Meeting), please submit the following items to lawstudent@sao20.org attention Cynthia Ross, Director of the Legal Division:

  • Cover Letter - please specify Summer semester
  • Resume
  • School Transcripts
  • SAO Employment Application
  • Notice of Registrant Clearance from FL Board of Bar Examiners

It's never too early to start planning for a 2023 Spring Internship.  Please visit your school Professional Development Center or Externship Coordinator for more information.

Summer 2023 Internships

The summer program requires an 8-9 week commitment
