Today Brock Smith, 31, was sentenced to 8 years in prison for one count of Solicitation of a Child and 10 years of sex offender probation for one count of Transmission of Material Harmful to Minors.
Smith did a plea straight to the court in Naples earlier in May. Each defendant can give up their right to a jury trial and plea directly to the judge to be sentenced. He entered a plea of no contest and was adjudicated guilty.
Smith has another case set for trial in September for charges involving crimes against a child. He is charged with two counts of Unlawful Sexual Activity. The cases were investigated by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.
