Guilty of Vehicular Homicide

Tonight a Lee County jury found Kenneth Graves guilty of Vehicular Homicide following a
three day trial.

On Thanksgiving day, November 23, 2017, the defendant drove a 2001 Ford Mustang in a
reckless manner on Veteran’s Parkway in Cape Coral. Numerous witnesses testified that they
saw the defendant driving at a high rate of speed, moving quickly between vehicles on a wet
roadway. The defendant abruptly cut in front of another vehicle before striking the median, going
airborne and shearing off the roof of a Prius driven by a 32-year-old woman. She was crushed by
the impact of the Mustang and died two days later. The Cape Coral Police Department handled
the crash scene and investigation.

Sentencing has been scheduled for August 12. Graves faces up to 30 years in prison.

Assistant State Attorney Kelly Worcester of the Homicide Unit and Assistant State Attorney
Jessica Horowitz prosecuted the case.
