Pascal Davis was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison for one count of DUI Manslaughter followed by 5 years of drug offender probation. He was also adjudicated guilty for one count of DUI Serious Bodily Injury and DUI Damage to Person/Property. He was sentenced to 5 years of drug offender probation and one year in jail to be served concurrently. Davis also had his driver’s license revoked for life.
The defendant caused a three car crash on October 21, 2016 on Michael G. Rippe Parkway in Fort Myers that led to the death of a 26-year-old Naples woman and injured a 33-year-old Punta Gorda man. The car Davis was driving southbound began to drift off the road and he over-corrected, careening through three lanes and into northbound traffic. The Florida Highway Patrol handled the crash investigation.
Under the terms of his probation following his release from prison, he must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations. He will also have a 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, must attend a DUI school, attend a victim impact panel and do 50 hours of community service.
Davis asked to plea just as trial was getting underway Wednesday. He was sentenced yesterday.
Assistant State Attorney Mara Marzano of our Homicide Unit and Assistant State Attorney Joshua Fredrickson prosecuted the case.
