Prison Sentence for Murder

Juan Agustin Ajqui Chach, 36, of Fort Myers, was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 20.5 years in prison for one count of Second-Degree Murder.

On June 16, 2019, the Fort Myers Police Department was called to the scene of a man found dead in a home in Fort Myers. Their investigation found that the defendant had been arguing with the victim, his roommate, which led to a physical altercation. Chach beat the victim in the head with a piece of wood, killing him. Detectives arrested the defendant for the murder.

Assistant State Attorney Heather Fly and Assistant State Attorney Natalie Savino, of the State Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit, prosecuted the case.
