Guilty Verdict in Drug Case

Ashleigh Jean Wright, 36, of Lehigh Acres, was found guilty as charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance. The jury returned the guilty verdict following
a one-day trial in Lee County.

In 2019, Wright was pulled over by a Lee County Sheriff’s Deputy for failing to properly stop at a stop sign. The defendant was driving a rental car. When the deputy asked if there were any weapons or drugs in the car, she responded that there were no weapons.

A search of the car was done and a bag was found that contained methamphetamine.
