Torrey Gary has been found guilty as charged for one count of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The jury returned the guilty verdict following a one-day trial in Naples.
On November 26, 2021, the defendant was working for a moving company and was in the process of packing up tenants at a residence in Collier County.
The owner of the property was called to come to the house because the defendant slapped a family member’s car. The victims went into the house and the defendant started a loud argument. He then pulled out a box cutter razor blade from his pocket, and said he was going to cut them and slice them with the blade, The victims were able to get to safety and the defendant got in his work van and fled.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office was contacted and arrested the defendant after locating him at a nearby gas station.
Assistant State Attorney Brian Ashby prosecuted the case. Sentencing is scheduled for tomorrow.
