Ronald Looker was found guilty of Familial or Custodial Sexual Battery. The jury returned the guilty verdict Friday, following a two-day trial in Hendry County.
In October 2020, the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a sex crime complaint in LaBelle and began an investigation. An adult contacted them after learning of past occurred sexual abuse that the defendant had committed on a child victim. The child also disclosed the abuse to school officials who also reported the crime.
The investigation determined a crime had been committed at a residence in LaBelle. The defendant was identified as the perpetrator and arrested.
Assistant State Attorney Evan Chaput prosecuted the case.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 20, 2024.
