Today, Luis Fuentes pled guilty and was sentenced to 40 years in State prison, with a 25-year minimum/mandatory, for three counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. He was also sentenced to lifetime Sex Offender Probation and designated a Sexual Predator.
Assistant State Attorney Christine Cummins, of the State Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit, and Assistant State Attorney Francine Donnorummo, State Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit Chief, prosecuted the case.
Fuentes was arrested on March 12, 2022, following an investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, relating to allegations of the defendant molesting a child. Following the defendant’s arrest, other victims were identified, leading to the additional charges.
During the investigation it was discovered that the defendant had possession of a large amount of child pornography. The FBI then joined the investigation. The child pornography was found on SD cards and several cellphones belonging to the defendant.
The defendant was prosecuted in Federal court for the possession, solicitation, and production of child pornography. He was sentenced in May 2024 to 110 years in Federal prison. The Federal and State sentences will run concurrently.
