NETFORCE Operation Leads to Drug Trafficker Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison

Drug trafficker Eugene Shadul Pla, Jr., has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for Conspiring to Traffic Cocaine in Southwest Florida. He was also ordered to pay a $250,000 fine as part of his sentence.

The defendant was arrested by the Collier County Sheriff’s Office during Operation Perrydise in 2020, which stemmed from a NETFORCE investigation that began in Lee County.

The defendant was adjudicated guilty of:

• Conspiracy to Traffic in Cocaine, 400 grams or more but less than 150 kilograms

Members of NETFORCE uncovered a drug trafficking organization operating in the Fort Myers area, trafficking large amounts of cocaine and other narcotics. Through electronic and physical surveillance, they were able to identify additional narcotics dealers in Collier County involved with the drug trafficking organization.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the organization operating within Collier County and discovered Eugene Shadul Pla Jr. to be a source of cocaine supply for the organization.

Assistant State Attorney Katherine Rumley, Chief of Narcotics, and Assistant State Attorney Brock Frazier prosecuted the case.

NETFORCE was formed by State Attorney Amira Fox in conjunction with law enforcement agency partners, to coordinate a circuit-wide approach to infiltrating and dismantling drug trafficking organizations, organized crime, racketeering, and money-laundering enterprises in Southwest Florida.
