Life in Prison for Sexual Battery on a Child

William Michael Teany was sentenced to life in prison, and designated as a Sexual Predator, for Familial or Custodial Sexual Battery on a Child Older than 12 Years of Age, but Younger than 18 Years of Age.

The defendant was convicted in July following a jury trial in Lee County. Assistant State Attorneys Adam Sullivan and Erin Hughes prosecuted the case.

The crime happened in July 2022 at a home in Lehigh Acres. The defendant sexually battered the child victim when they were left in his care while their parents were out of town. The victim immediately told an adult.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation.
