Kelly Brewer, of Hillsboro, Illinois, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for Lewd or Lascivious Conduct. He was convicted in September, following a trial in Lee County.
Assistant State Attorney Janesha Beckford prosecuted the case.
The defendant inappropriately touched the child victim inside of a closet, while on vacation in Florida in 2021. The victim told someone else what happened after arriving back home to Illinois.
The Illinois State Police Department began an investigation and then contacted the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. They took over the investigation since the crimes happened in Florida.
