Heather Bouchard was convicted of Armed Trafficking in Fentanyl, Use or Possession with Intent to Use Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cocaine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Protonitazene), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Xylazine), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), and Possession of a Controlled Substance (Heroin). The jury returned the guilty verdict just after 9 p.m. last night following a one-day trial in Lee County.
Assistant State Attorney Olivia Ferrell and Assistant State Attorney David Klein prosecuted the case.
The crime happened in 2024. Deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office were on the scene of an incident involving drugs at a convenience store in Lee County. While there, they ran the tag of a car parked in the lot and it came back to the defendant. She had a warrant out for her arrest in Sarasota.
The defendant was sitting outside of the store when deputies approached. She was arrested and the crossbody bag she was wearing was searched. Inside was 14 grams of Fentanyl, five other narcotics, a firearm, baggies, a scale, a pipe, and a straw.
Sentencing is scheduled for January 26, 2026.
