Grand Jury Indictment

State Attorney Amira Fox convened the Lee County Grand Jury, and they have returned an indictment against Vadim Manafov, of Cape Coral, on the following:

Count I. First Degree Murder – Unlawful Distribution of Fentanyl F.S. 782.04 (1)(a)3g Capital Felony

Count II. First Degree Murder – Unlawful Distribution of Fentanyl F.S. 782.04 (1)(a)3g Capital Felony

Count III. Unlawful Distribution of Fentanyl Resulting in Overdose or Serious Bodily Injury F.S.893.131 (2)(a)4 Second Degree Felony

Count IV. Sale or Delivery of a Controlled Substance F.S. 893.13 (1)(a)1 Second Degree Felony

Count V. Sale or Delivery of a Controlled Substance F.S. 893.13 (1)(a)1 Second Degree Felony

Count VI. Sale or Delivery of a Controlled Substance F.S. 893.13 (1)(a)1 Second Degree Felony

The indictment reads in part that on, about, or between, June 29th and 30th, 2024, two Lee County residents, a man and woman, died due to Fentanyl. A third person overdosed on Fentanyl which caused serious bodily injury. The indictment reads in part that the defendant distributed the Fentanyl to these victims.

“I want to thank the Cape Coral Police Department for their detailed and extensive investigation. I also want to thank the Lee County Grand Jury for their attention to the evidence. I hope the indictment provides some peace to the family and friends of the victims as we seek justice,” said State Attorney Fox.

“I will convene a Grand Jury and seek First Degree Murder indictments every time the evidence shows someone provided illegal drugs that led to death. We will not back down,” said State Attorney Fox.
