Defendant Convicted in Child Molestation Case

Diego Montoya Reyes was convicted of Familial or Custodial Sexual Battery and three counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation, following a three-day trial in Collier County.

Assistant State Attorney Lawrence Raab and Assistant State Attorney Sarah Woodward prosecuted the case.

The defendant sexually battered the child victim numerous times in a Collier County residence in 2024, while in a caretaker role. Other children in the home witnessed the defendant touch the child victim, sometimes as she slept.

The Collier County Sheriff’s Office Special Crimes Bureau investigated the case.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 20, 2026.
