Jirarojn Madselee was sentenced to 10 years in prison followed by 5 years of probation for Shooting At or Into a Building. He was sentenced to credit time served for Criminal Mischief. The case involved the defendant firing shots at a Port Charlotte business he had recently been fired from.
He was convicted in June. Assistant State Attorney Tracy Detzel prosecuted the case.
The crime happened in March 2023 at a used car lot. The defendant had been fired and started posting concerning statements on social media. Two days after the firing, an employee at the car lot was coming to work and saw what appeared to be bullet holes in the front window of the building. They immediately called the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies found three shell casings outside of the business and a bullet hole in the door of one of the cars on the lot. The investigation led to the arrest of the defendant. He admitted committing the crime during an interview with deputies.
