Today Glen Barry Ginochio was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 20 years in prison, followed by 10 years of probation, for First-Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery While Armed and two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Firearm). This case involves a shooting that stemmed from an argument over loud music in Cape Coral. The defendant was convicted in October.
Assistant State Attorney Marilla Shoemaker prosecuted the case.
In September 2023, the defendant went to his neighbor’s home, carrying a gun, upset about what he considered loud music from the night before. He entered his neighbor’s lanai and fired his gun. One of the people in the home shot back, hitting the defendant in the arm.
The Cape Coral Police Department responded to the home in the Northeast Cape and their investigation led to the arrest of the defendant.
