Assistant State Attorney Marilla Shoemaker prosecuted the case.

The crime happened in December 2023 when the defendant drove to a home in Cape Coral to deliver drugs. As he pulled into the garage, he opened his car door and unloaded a bag of drugs from the back of his car and put it into the trunk. As he did that, Cape Coral Police Department S.W.A.T. team members placed the defendant under arrest, initially, for driving on a suspended driver’s license.

The drug drop off had been arranged with the defendant through a confidential informant. Law enforcement was on scene and had surveillance cameras in place as the defendant drove up with the drugs.

A search of the defendant’s car uncovered trafficking amounts of Fentanyl, cocaine, amphetamine, and phenethylamines. The drugs were in bags that were placed inside small plastic storage containers which were placed inside backpacks.
