This afternoon, defendant Jeremy Kenneth Mannerberg, of Naples, was found guilty as charged of the Violation of the Computer Pornography and Child Exploitation Prevention Act.
Assistant State Attorneys Laura Mason and Deanna Berman prosecuted the case.
The crime happened in 2023. The defendant was on a dating platform and pretended to be a young female. He then started sexual conversations involving a child and offering a 2-year-old child for sexual activity. He also sent images of the child victim to a person on the dating site.
The conversations were flagged by the dating website due to images involving a child and reported to the National Center for Missing or Exploited Children. The Collier County Sheriff’s Office was then contacted and began an investigation, leading to the identification and arrest of the defendant.
The child victim was also identified and is safe.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 5, 2026.
