Conviction for Crimes Against a Child

Michael Wooley, of North Fort Myers, was convicted today of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation of a Child Less Than 12 Years of Age, Lewd or Lascivious Conduct, and Familial or Custodial Sexual Battery.

Assistant State Attorney Christine Cummins, of the State Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit, prosecuted the case.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office began their investigation in February 2023. The victim made disclosures of sexual abuse in a child protection team interview. The sexual abuse started when the child was 6 years of age and continued until the victim was 12 years of age.

Sentencing has been scheduled for September 22, 2025.
