Drug Dealer Convicted

Katie Jean Baker has been convicted of two counts of Sale or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver a Controlled Substance, and one count of Possession of a Place for Trafficking in, Sale of, or Manufacturing a Controlled Substance. A jury returned the guilty verdict this afternoon, following a two-day trial in Lee County.

Assistant State Attorney Tyler A. Goldman and Assistant State Attorney Geoffrey B. Wilson prosecuted the case.

In March 2024, the defendant sold drugs while under surveillance by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit. She sold Fentanyl and crack cocaine to an undercover informant. She sold the drugs from outside of her apartment on Clear Lake Loop in Fort Myers.

A search warrant was then executed at the residence. Detectives found drugs and drug paraphernalia, including baggies and scales, inside.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 12, 2025.
