Lee County Circuit Court Chief Assistant State Attorney Stephanie Russell and Narcotics Unit Assistant State Attorney Olivia Ferrell prosecuted the case.
On September 25, 2024, just before 9 a.m., the Fort Myers Police Department Vice/Narcotics Unit, with assistance from the Fort Myers Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team, along with uniformed officers, went to the defendant’s residence to execute a search warrant. There was no response when the SWAT team knocked and announced their presence at the front door. The SWAT team breached the front door and continued announcing their presence. An hour passed and no one exited the house. The Fort Myers Police Department Intel Unit responded and utilized a robot to enter the residence. The robot made contact with the sole occupant of the house, which was the defendant. He then exited the residence and was placed in custody as a safety sweep was done of the house.
Detectives then entered the residence and found large amounts of drugs and cash. In a kitchen cabinet, there was methamphetamine in a plastic bag, as well as cocaine residue in pots.
There was also close to $1 million in cash found in the home, with nearly $390,000 located in the boxspring of a bed. In the boxspring there were also multiple baggies, individually packaged for street sales that contained 683.1 grams of Fentanyl, 176.7 grams of crack cocaine, 23.8 grams of methamphetamine and 5.5 grams of oxycodone/acetaminophen.
Vice/Narcotics detectives had been conducting surveillance on Hixon and had observed him conducting drug transactions at gas stations in Lee County.
