Fentanyl Trafficker Sentenced to 30 Years in Prison

Terry Lee Kemp Jr., of Cape Coral, was sentenced to 30 years in prison after being convicted of drug trafficking. He was found guilty of Sale or Delivery of Cocaine and two counts of Trafficking in Dangerous Fentanyl 4 grams or more.

He was sentenced to 15 years on each count, with count three running concurrent to counts one and two. The jury returned the guilty verdict following a three-day jury trial in Lee County.

Assistant State Attorneys Melanie Sanders and Adam Sullivan prosecuted the case.

In 2024, the defendant sold 7 grams of Fentanyl and 14 grams of cocaine to an undercover detective with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit. The defendant provided an address to a condominium complex in Fort Myers and completed the sale inside a vehicle.

The defendant then sold more Fentanyl to the undercover detective. This time arranging to meet him in a grocery store parking lot in Fort Myers. The defendant was concerned about that location as he thought he saw law enforcement. He then told the undercover detective to instead meet him at another retail store parking lot in Fort Myers and completed the drug sale.
