Two Life Sentences for Crimes Against a Child

This afternoon, Dondre Shamar Williams, 33, of Port Charlotte, was sentenced to two, life in prison sentences, for Sexual Battery of a Child Less than 12 Years of Age and Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. The defendant was found guilty in September, following a trial in Charlotte County.

In June 2020, the child victim told her mother that an adult had touched her under her clothes. Her mother contacted the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies investigated and determined the defendant had molested the victim on more than one occasion, leading to his arrest.

Assistant State Attorney Michael Colombo Jr. and Assistant State Attorney Alexa Lipham prosecuted the case.
