In Lee County today, Terry Brady was sentenced to 30 years in prison as a Habitual Felony Offender for Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon. The maximum for that charge is 15 years but with the enhanced sentence as an HFO, the prison time doubled. This charge rose from the investigation of the murder he was recently convicted of following a November trial.
Brady, 45, will serve this 30 year sentence consecutive to the life sentence he received on November 7th for one count of Second Degree Murder with a Firearm for the 2014 murder of 31-year-old Eddie Owens. Brady shot Owens multiple times and then set Owens on fire. At the sentencing for that crime, he was classified as a Prison Release Reoffender so it was a mandatory life sentence.
