Law Enforcement Baseball Tournament

The public is invited to watch area law enforcement battle it out on the fields at the 9th Annual State Attorney’s Office Law Enforcement Appreciation Day Softball Tournament.

The action happens Saturday, April 30th from 8-6 p.m. at the Lee County Sports Complex in Fort Myers. Law enforcement agencies representing 5 counties across Southwest Florida are competing for the Upper and Lower Division 2011 Championships. Games will be happening on four fields throughout the day.

Business sponsors help make this event possible so law enforcement employees can have a free day of fun. All profits then go to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers. The work they do impacts all agencies dealing with crime.

Teams this year include; the State Attorney’s Office, FHP, Hendry Co. Sheriff’s Office, FWC, Naples Police Dept., FGCU Police, Glades Co. Sheriff’s Office, FDLE, Cape Coral Police Dept., Fort Myers Police Dept., Collier Co. Sheriff’s Office, Lee Co. Port Authority Police, Lee Co. Sheriff’s Office, Punta Gorda Police Dept., Probation Dept., and Pre-Trial Services.

Last year more than 1,000 people came by to watch the games. The media is welcome and we will have space set aside to park live trucks if you would like to do a live shot.
