Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Arson

Ismail Tisdale was sentenced to 20 years in prison Monday as a Habitual Felony Offender with a 15 year mandatory/minimum sentence as a Prison Releasee Reoffender for Second Degree Arson. He was found guilty following a trial in Charlotte County in March.

Tisdale started a fire in his prison cell at the Charlotte Correctional Institution in 2016. He was incarcerated at the time for Burglary of a Dwelling for a crime in Miami-Dade County when he started the fire.

Assistant State Attorneys Kyle Stublen and Cynthia Rebholz-Rubin handled the case.
