10 Years in Prison for Grand Theft

Thomas Henry Pusey, 47, of Charlotte County, was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison as a Habitual Felony Offender for one count of Grand Theft. The jury returned the guilty verdict following a three-day trial in January.

On March 13, 2019, the defendant stole a trailer from a construction site on Peachland Boulevard. He pulled up in a pick-up truck, attached the trailer, and fled. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office investigated the crime.

The trailer was later located at a residence in Punta Gorda. A witness told deputies the defendant gave her the trailer to help sell it. Pusey was arrested a short time later.

Assistant State Attorney Scott Patterson prosecuted the case.
