10 Years in Prison for Possession of Firearms by a Convicted Felon

Andrew James Edgell, Sr. was adjudicated guilty and sentenced to 10 years in prison, followed by 5 years of probation, immediately after being found guilty of Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Convicted Felon.

Assistant State Attorneys Geoffrey Wilson and Olivia Ferrell prosecuted the case. The jury returned the guilty verdict today, following a three-day trial in Lee County.

In 2024, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team executed a search warrant on the defendant’s Lehigh Acres home. There were dozens of guns found inside the house, many in plain view. There were 66 guns introduced as evidence at trial. The defendant is a convicted felon and is not allowed to have guns in his possession.
