Braxton Jacobs was adjudicated guilty and sentenced for breaking into a home in Charlotte County in 2025 and touching a woman against her will. As part of his sentence, he is also now designated a Sexual Predator for life.
The defendant was sentenced as follows:
Count I: Sexual Battery with a Deadly Weapon or Great Force – Sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by 10 years of Sex Offender Probation
Count II: First Degree Burglary with Assault or Battery – Sentenced to 15 years in prison, followed by 10 years of Sex Offender Probation
Count III: False Imprisonment – Sentenced to 5 years in prison
The sentences will run concurrently.
Assistant State Attorney Dennis Wallace II, of the Special Victims Unit, prosecuted the case.
The defendant got into the home by climbing through a window. The resident of the home was in a bedroom. The defendant came into the room, armed with a knife. The defendant was able to touch the victim and before the situation could get worse, the victim started to talk to the defendant, convincing him to leave. The victim then immediately contacted the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office.
