25 Year Sentence in Kidnapping Near Bus Stop Case

This morning, Raymond DeJesus was adjudicated guilty of two counts of Sexual Battery with Deadly Weapon or Force, Kidnapping, Lewd or Lascivious Molestation, and Lewd or Lascivious Conduct.

He was sentenced to 25 years in prison, followed by 10 years of sex offender probation, for the kidnapping and rape of a 15-year-old girl in Tice. He was also designated a lifetime Sexual Predator.

Special Victims Unit Assistant State Attorney Adam Sullivan and Assistant State Attorney Stephanie Russell, Circuit Court Chief, prosecuted the case.

The crime happened in September 2024. The child victim was attacked while she was walking to her school bus stop. The defendant fled after the crime and was found hiding in the attic of a home by deputies with the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
