30 Year Prison Sentence for Drug Trafficker Arrested by NETFORCE

Today in Fort Myers, George Samuel Broughton, arrested during a NETFORCE operation, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, for Conspiracy to Traffic Cocaine (400 grams or more). He was also ordered to pay a $250,000 fine, court costs and cost of prosecution. The defendant was arrested as part of Operation Block Party in 2020, the first NETFORCE operation.

Collier County Deputy Chief Assistant State Attorney John Dommerich Jr. and Hendry/Glades Circuit Court Chief Assistant State Attorney Natalie Savino prosecuted the case.

The defendant conspired to unlawfully traffic cocaine on one or more occasions in 2020. When he was arrested by members of NETFORCE, more than $300,000 in cash was found in a storage unit in Lee County that belonged to the defendant.

NETFORCE was formed by State Attorney Amira Fox in conjunction with law enforcement agency partners, to coordinate a circuit-wide approach to infiltrating and dismantling drug trafficking organizations, organized crime, racketeering, and money-laundering enterprises in Southwest Florida.

The defendant has pending cases.
