30 Years in Prison for Coffee Shop Robbery

Dustin Daniel Phennicie, 42, of Fort Myers, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, followed by 5 years of probation, for Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. He was found guilty in
March, following a trial in Lee County. 

On July 14, 2021, the defendant walked into a Starbucks on Daniels Parkway in Lee County, greeted people and asked for change. He then pulled out a knife and restrained an employee, while
demanding money. He held the employee at knifepoint until he got cash and fled.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation and later found the defendant at a nearby hotel. He was positively identified and taken into custody.

Assistant State Attorney Jonathan Levy and Assistant State Attorney Anastasia Snetkova prosecuted the case.
