45 Years in Prison for Crimes Against Children

This morning in Collier County, Randy Schoolcraft was sentenced to 45 years in prison, followed by lifetime sex offender probation, for crimes against two children in two 2022 cases. He must also now register as a sexual predator. The crimes came to light after one child disclosed information about abuse, following a slumber party.

Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Brown prosecuted the cases.

In the first case, Schoolcraft was adjudicated guilty of, and sentenced to, the following:

Counts 1-5: Attempted Capital Sexual Battery – 30 years in prison

Count 6: Lewd or Lascivious Molestation – 45 years in prison followed by lifetime sex offender probation

Count 7: Promoting a Sexual Performance by a Child – 30 years in prison

Counts 8 -107: Possession of Child Pornography – 15 years in prison

In the second case, he was adjudicated guilty of, and sentenced to, the following:

Count 1: Lewd or Lascivious Molestation – 45 years in prison followed by lifetime sex offender probation

He was also ordered to pay court costs and just over $5,000 for the cost of the investigations to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office.

The defendant was also sentenced for three violation of probation (VOP) charges in three earlier cases. He was sentenced to 5 years in prison on each of two counts of Grand Theft from a 2016 case, 15 years in prison on each of two counts of Possession of a Firearm/Concealed Weapon Ammunition by a Convicted Felon from a 2017 case, and 15 years in prison for one count of Aggravated Battery from a 2017 case.

The sentences are to run concurrently.
