Nilson Ramos Pereira has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of three counts of Lewd and Lascivious Molestation. The defendant was found guilty in February, following a jury trial in Lee County.
Assistant State Attorney Thomas Guthrie and Assistant State Attorney Francine Donnorummo, Special Victims Unit Chief, prosecuted the case.
The crimes happened between April 2022 and April 2023, in Lee County.
The Fort Myers Police Department (FMPD) was contacted after the child victim told a guardian about being molested.
During the investigation it was learned that the defendant had been in contact with the child’s guardian via social media and by a phone call, that was witnessed at FMPD. During that call, the defendant told the victim’s mother that this had been going on for two to three months.
A warrant was then issued for the defendant’s arrest. He was located in Texas and brought to Lee County.
