Diego Montoya Reyes was sentenced to life in prison for Familial or Custodial Sexual Battery. He was also sentenced to 261 months, more than 21 years, for three counts of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. The defendant was convicted in February following a jury trial in Collier County.
Assistant State Attorney Lawrence Raab and Assistant State Attorney Sarah Woodward prosecuted the case.
The defendant sexually battered the child victim numerous times in a Collier County residence in 2024, while in a caretaker role. Other children in the home witnessed the defendant touch the child victim, sometimes as she slept.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office Special Crimes Bureau investigated the case.
