Club Murder Conviction

Kahleel Jacques Perez, 23, faces up to life in prison when he is sentenced after being found guilty as charged of Second Degree Murder with a Firearm following a two day trial in Lee County.

In April 2017 the 34 year old victim and his friend were attempting to leave Scarlett’s Cabaret, an adult entertainment club, on Fowler Street in Fort Myers, when three men started hitting their car. The victim stopped and he and his friend got out of the car and started arguing with the three men in the parking lot. The argument escalated and resulted in Perez shooting the victim. He was transported to the hospital where he died.

Perez’s sentencing is scheduled for November 26th. Assistant State Attorneys Lanna Belohlavek and Sara Miller of our Homicide Unit prosecuted the case.
