Pedro Ivan Mendez Ochart has been convicted of Throwing a Deadly Missile into a Building and Trespassing Other Than Structure/Conveyance – Notice by Actual Communication. A jury returned the guilty verdict following a two-day trial in Collier County.
Assistant State Attorney Sarah Woodward prosecuted the case.
On January 23, 2022, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office responded to a home in reference to rocks being thrown at a bedroom window. The homeowners said it happened the previous night too. Both incidents caused holes in the window glass. Video from a home surveillance camera, hooked up after the first incident, showed the defendant throwing the rocks.
The defendant was known to the family. He had been trespassed from the residence the previous year. The rocks were targeting a child’s bedroom.
Sentencing is scheduled for March 17, 2025.
