Drug Dealer Found Guilty

Albert Lopez Avalos has been found guilty as charged of Sale or Delivery of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine with Intent, following a trial in Lee County. Avalos was arrested
by the Cape Coral Police Department Vice, Investigations, and Narcotics (VIN) Unit, following an undercover operation in August 2022.

While under surveillance, the defendant participated in the sale of cocaine out of a home in Cape Coral. He met the drug buyer, a confidential witness, and told them to call him “Trouble.” After $100 was exchanged in the kitchen, the defendant used a scale to weigh powder cocaine and then instructed the buyer to take the cocaine and put it in a clear plastic baggie. The cocaine had a prepackaged weight of 2.2 grams.

Assistant State Attorneys John Evan Humphreville and Olivia Ferrell prosecuted the case.

Sentencing is scheduled for August 29, 2023.
