Today Nathaniel Christian O’Dea was sentenced to 13 years and 3 months in prison for one count of DUI Manslaughter. He was also sentenced to a consecutive 5 years of probation for one count of DUI with Serious Bodily Injury. O’Dea also had his driver’s license permanently revoked.
The crash happened in 2020, on Burnt Store Road in Lee County. The defendant had been drinking and crashed head on, into a car driving in the opposite lane on the two-lane road. The crash killed the passenger in the other vehicle, a 30-year-old man.
The Cape Coral Police Department investigated the crash scene.
Assistant State Attorney Leena Marcos and Assistant State Attorney Kelly Worcester prosecuted the case.
