Former Masseuse Sentenced to Prison for Sexual Battery

Jeffrey Scott Kaplan, a former masseuse, has been adjudicated guilty of Sexual Battery and sentenced to prison, for a crime that occurred while he was working at a Fort Myers
business. Kaplan was sentenced to 7 years in prison followed by 5 years of Sex Offender Probation and was adjudicated a Sexual Offender. He was convicted in April following a trial in Lee County.

In 2022, the defendant was employed at a massage therapy business. During a session, he touched a client inappropriately, committing sexual battery. The victim demanded he stop and quickly left. A Lee County Sheriff’s Office investigation led to the arrest of the defendant.

As part of his sentence, he is not allowed to have any contact with the victim and is not allowed to have any engagement in any type of therapy or practice involving physical contact with the body of a patient, client, or customer. He was also ordered to pay the cost of prosecution and restitution.

Assistant State Attorney Clark Cary, of the Special Victims Unit, prosecuted the case.
