Grand Jury Indictments Announced

State Attorney Amira Fox announces three indictments by the Lee County Grand Jury in two
cases.

Ja’Quan Bernard Robinson, 24, was indicted on the following:

Count I: First Degree Murder, F.S. 782.04(1), Capital Felony
Count II: First Degree Burglary with Assault or Battery, F.S. 810.02, PBL (Punishable by Life)
Felony
Count III: Violation of Injunction, F.S. 741.31, First Degree Misdemeanor

Robinson is accused of murdering a woman on or about October 14, 2020 in her Lehigh Acres
home. The defendant is also accused of committing a burglary by unlawfully entering the
dwelling and violating an injunction of protection that was in place for a member of the victim’s
family. The Fort Myers Police Department was the investigating agency.

Assistant State Attorneys Sara Miller and Audra Thomas-Eth are prosecuting the case.
In the second, unrelated case, two defendants were indicted. Dexter Leonard Thomas, 39, was
indicted for:

Count I: First Degree Murder, F.S. 782.04(1); 777.011, Capital Felony
Count II: First Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery and/or with a Firearm, F.S. 810.02;
777.011, PBL Felony
Count III: Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery and/or with a
Firearm, F.S. 777.04; 810.02, Second Degree Felony

Antonio Terrell Crews, 30, was indicted for:

Count I: First Degree Murder with a Firearm, F.S. 782.04(1); 775.087; 777.011, Capital Felony
Count II: First Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery, F.S. 810.02; 775.087; 777.011, Life
Felony
Count III: Conspiracy to Commit First Degree Burglary with an Assault or Battery, F.S. 777.04;
810.02; 775.087, First Degree Felony

Thomas and Crews are accused of First-Degree premeditated/felony murder of a man between
and including February 20, 2015 and February 21, 2015 in Lee County, during a burglary. The
Lee County Sheriff’s Office together with the State Attorney’s Office Cold Case Homicide Unit
handled the investigation.

Assistant State Attorneys Dan Feinberg and Jennifer Royal are prosecuting the case.

“I want to thank the members of the Lee County Grand Jury for their attention to the evidence
and testimony presented this week. I convened the Grand Jury due to the nature of these cases
and the heinous acts that the defendants are accused of doing. The indictments returned by the
Grand Jury show the seriousness of the allegations,” said State Attorney Fox.

All three defendants are in custody.
