Martiano Hondares Seco, 52, of Naples, was found guilty as charged of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon. The jury returned the guilty verdict this afternoon, following
a two-day trial in Collier County.
On September 27, 2021, the defendant was arrested after getting into an argument with a co-worker about a parking space, at the landscaping company they work for. The defendant grabbed a machete from inside one of the company’s vehicles and hit the victim with the machete several times.
The victim sustained several lacerations but survived the attack. Collier County Sheriff’s Deputies were called to the scene and arrested Seco.
Assistant State Attorney Brian Ashby prosecuted the case. Sentencing is scheduled for January 10, 2023.
