Sentencing is scheduled for June 13, 2023, for Guillermo Garcia Hembree, after a jury found him guilty as charged of Sexual Battery Upon a Child Less than 12 Years of Age and Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. He was convicted following a four-day trial in Lee County.
The defendant was arrested in March 2021 following an investigation by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office. The investigation began after a young child disclosed to an adult about past occurred crimes perpetrated on them by the defendant.
Hembree was already a convicted sex offender for an offense that occurred in Georgia in 2005. He now faces life in prison.
