Guilty as Charged for Crimes Against a Child

Timothy Rice was found guilty as charged in a case involving crimes against a child. Rice was found guilty of Lewd or Lascivious Molestation and two counts of Lewd or Lascivious Conduct, following a two-day trial in Charlotte County.

Count one carries a 25-year minimum/mandatory prison sentence. The defendant was remanded into custody following the trial and sentencing is scheduled for April 21st.

In 2019, the defendant went to a public pool in Charlotte County and touched two children in a lewd or lascivious manner. The Charlotte County Sheriff’s office handled the investigation.

Charlotte County Felony Chief Assistant State Attorney Jennifer Garczewski and Assistant State Attorney Alexa Lipham prosecuted the case.
