Guilty as Charged for Drug Trafficking

Defendant William Leo McBride, 51, is scheduled to be sentenced on February 9, 2023, after being found guilty as charged of Trafficking in Amphetamine – 14 grams – 28 grams, Sale or Delivery of a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent, and Transportation of Drug Paraphernalia.

The defendant was seen selling drugs during surveillance done by the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office as part of an undercover drug operation in October 2018. McBride sold drugs out of his truck in a gas station parking lot in Charlotte County. He sold 27 grams of methamphetamine and 10 Hydromorphone pills.

Assistant State Attorney Scott Patterson and Assistant State Attorney Nolan Deming prosecuted the case.
