Guilty as Charged in Coffee Shop Robbery

This afternoon, Dustin Daniel Phennicie, 42, of Fort Myers, was found guilty as charged with Robbery with a Deadly Weapon, following a two-day trial in Lee County.

On July 14, 2021, the defendant walked into a Starbucks on Daniels Parkway in Lee County and greeted people in the establishment. He then asked for change and pulled out a knife, restraining an employee, and demanded money. He held the employee at knifepoint until he got cash and fled.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office handled the investigation and later found the defendant at a nearby hotel. He was positively identified in the robbery and taken into custody.

Assistant State Attorney Jonathan Levy and Assistant State Attorney Anastasia Snetkova prosecuted the case. A sentencing date has been set for April 18th.
