Dondre Shamar Williams, 32, of Port Charlotte, was found guilty as charged of Sexual Battery, Child Less than 12 Years of Age and Lewd or Lascivious Molestation. The jury returned the guilty verdict Tuesday evening, following a two-day trial in Charlotte County.
In June 2020, the child victim told her mother that an adult had touched her under her clothes. Her mother contacted the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies investigated and determined the defendant had molested the victim on more than one occasion, leading to his arrest.
Assistant State Attorney Michael Colombo and Assistant State Attorney Alexa Lipham prosecuted the case. Sentencing is scheduled for October 21, 2022.
