James Otis Robinson III was found guilty as charged with Aggravated Battery Causing Great Bodily Harm. The jury returned the guilty verdict Friday evening, following a one-day trial in Lee
County.
On January 6, 2020, while finishing up her route, a delivery driver was attacked by a co-worker, who wanted to leave before the route was over. The defendant punched the victim twice, then threw her to the ground. He then began kicking her, before he ran away. The victim sustained numerous injuries. The incident was captured on a security camera in the neighborhood. The Fort Myers Police Department handled the investigation.
Assistant State Attorney Olivia Ferrell and Lee County Circuit Court Chief, Assistant State Attorney Tyler Lovejoy, prosecuted the case. Sentencing is scheduled for March 14th.
